Roncesvalles, Spain
While I was volunteering as 'hospitalera' in the albergue in Roncesvalles, Spain, I was fortunate to find the time to offer a "Yoga for Pilgrims" class. The venue was the original place where the first albergue was built around the year 1150. The high wall on the side is the only thing remaining from the original building, almost a 1000 years of pilgrims have passed since! We spent half an hour stretching sore muscles in our backs, legs and shoulders, and benefited from the peaceful surroundings of the monastery in a final relaxation. It was bliss!
